Empire Stylebook of Interior Design Description
Percier (1764-1838) and Fontaine (1762-1853) were commissioned by Napoleon to remodel the Chateau de Malmaison. They subsequently executed major architectural works all over Paris. Among their long list of achievements were designs for Paris Opera production and the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, as well as the redecoration of the Louvres and the Tuileries Palace. This book is a stlyebook of their designs depicting a wide variety of interiors and details of ornament and furnishings from richly ornate ceilings to candelabrum and beds.
