The Empire Stlye flourished from the 1790's to the defeat of Napoleon. The style mass produced ornaments based on Greek and Roman designs. One of the major sources for these oranments was the catalogue of Beunat's pre-formed components. This is a complete reprinting of one of Beunat's later catalogues.It contains designs for cornices, doorways, columns and alcoves. This book is also a good source for Greek and Roman mythological figures and beasts of legend.
