Pages from original mail order catalogues from 1920's New York - from B.Altman & Company. Altman's ran an operation taking up an entire block on Fifth Avenue, specialising in the fashions of the day - high quality women's clothing and accessories. Stylised drawings of flappers depict sophisticated evening dresses, bathing suits, cloche hats, shoes, scarves, "boudoir garments", corsets, semi-made dresses and skirts, clothing for boys and girls, winter and summer outfits and many more themes and designs.
Both formal and casual attire features in these authentic photographs and illustrations - a style record of the Jazz Age.
